OMG! I'd heard of silent reading parties but didn't know they were in so many cities, and I remember thinking I'd LOVE to try something like that, and I see there's one in my city (NYC). Def gonna look into going to one so thanks so much for linking to the GMA vid! 📚

It sounds like NYC and Seattle have many SBC's and they are so popular. My area has a couple, but nothing like the ones in Seattle & NYC that I've read about. Let me know what you think about it when you go. :)

I didn't know they were so popular...I'd heard about ONE in a random city somewhere and thought it'd be such a fun thing to do...now that I know there are so many in my city, I'm def gonna check it out, and I'll absolutely report back!

I just did some research and the NYC reading parties are only on weeknights. There's no way I could go somewhere and read for two hours after work without falling asleep lol! Oh well, perhaps they'll open up weekend parties, fingers crossed!

Did you check the Silent Book Club website also? I would think in a city that size there would be groups that meet on the weekends also.

I DID, and they don't have any in New York at all, which is crazy! I guess people don't find going somewhere to read on a Saturday night to be very exciting lol...although it sounds perfect to me!

Well, that's a huge disappointment for you. ☹️ Maybe there are others in NYC that feel the same way you do; is it time to start a chapter yourself?

Gayla ... thanks I will check out Artful Agenda ... i use my own created printed calendars because i can't get any of the electronic ones to do what I want ... Creative you know and most developed by left brains. Have fun on the cruise one of my Authors just returned from hers she loved Alaska and posted beautiful photos on her facebook page: fishing, dog sledding, sunsets and more.

I had my doubts when I started the "free trial." By the time I had transferred the current month from my old calendar to Artful Agenda, I was a believer. I'm still trying to transfer all my notes/lists from the Notes app, but I can't wait until I have everything in one place only. Let me know what you think of it.

How funny, I am also going on a cruise to Alaska with my family (who are cruisers, and my husband/I are not) in July!! Ours is July 6-13 and leaves from Seattle. I'm so looking forward to the cold! 96 where I live in CA today.

My cruise is July 22-29 and I'm on Quantum of the Seas (RC), is that the ship you are on? I agree about getting out of the heat and into the cold/cool air. We'll have to compare notes after both our cruises. Where in CA do you live? I grew up in the San Bernardino/Riverside area but have lived in North Texas since 2010. It's definitely hot here and the humidity is horrible.

No, we're on Norwegian Bliss! We're in Sacramento where it's 103 today (gross). Not much humidity here, thankfully, but definitely an AC-all-day sort of summer. We'll definitely have to compare notes!

What a wonderful list! Thank you for sharing about the Artful Agenda, I’ve never heard of it and have been looking for something like it! I downloaded it and am on a trial! Today, it’s a hot weekend but planning to hit up a big book sale later in the day & running some errands. Have fun on your first cruise 🚢

Thanks, Peachy! I had never heard of it either. Someone in one of my FB groups asked the group what they use for a calendar/planner and that was one of the responses. The person that responded was so enthusiastic about it, that I just had to try it. I was sold almost immediately--it was everything I had been looking for. It's hot here in North Texas, I stay inside most of the time. I don't like the heat! lol

Oh, my goodness. I am now happily falling down the rabbit hole of digital planning with the Artful Agenda. I think I need this!
