Nice links--I’ll be learning about audiobooks first. As for the weekend, I’m continuing on my “ditch a day” exploration during a month stay in Albuquerque. These irrigation ditches, or acequias, form a web across the entire Rio Grande valley and I find them fascinating.
I've never spent any time in Albuquerque, just driving through on the way to somewhere else. Exploring and listening to audiobooks, what fun that will be for you!
I don't believe I've heard of Culture before, I'll have to check it out. You read quite a bit of nonfiction and I look to your newsletter for reviews of nonfiction that would not normally be on my radar. Thanks for being here and providing that resource!
I think the only book I’ve read that is set in New Orleans is Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys. I can’t see if it’s on the list because you have to subscribe first.
I'm sorry Carol, I join and subscribe to many newsletters; I didn't realize that TripFiction was one that would be locked. I know many articles from NYT, WSJ, WP etc. are locked unless you are a subscriber, and I am, so I grab the gift link. Out os the Easy was NOT on the list and it should have been as it was an excellent book.
Yes, from your neck of the woods. I enjoy listening to the podcast of her show. I think she does great interviews and reviews and best part is they are about 30 minutes long, which is my preference.
If you're looking for something to read this weekend, why not try some of my stories? They're short stories, but rather long...ish. I think you might like something. Take a look. https://benwoestenburg.substack.com/about
LOVE these links. Such a great round up, Gayla!!
Thanks! So glad to have you here.

For my weekend I’ll be finishing reading Pinocchio and probably starting Martin Puchner’s new book, Culture.

I'm going to New Orleans soon, so thanks for the link for the books about or set in New Orleans!
That sounds like fun, have a great trip!

Nancy Pearl! Haven't heard that name in forever. But she was huge when I lived in Seattle!
