I think I’m the only one in the world that didn’t love that book!! lol. My entire book club went crazy for it it I found the story lacking. It made me feeling Elaine in Seinfeld when she’s the only one that disliked The English Patient!
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Not everyone will like every book, and that's o.k. I've felt the same when my bookish friends loved a book that I didn't. I heard about that book when it published and I kept hearing good things about it, but I kept saying to myself, "why would I want to read a book about an octopus that talks/thinks." It sounded really silly and I don't usually read silly. lol
I'd never heard of 'the octopus book' so thanks for pointing it out. I'm looking forward to checking out your other links too! Enjoy your weekend with no looming deadlines ahead!
I loved so many things about this book; maybe I'll write about it in a future newsletter. I adored Tova and of course, loved Marcellus. It was about friends, family, found family and I felt like hugging it at the end. Thanks for reading, Judy.
Thanks for reading, Jill. It's funny, I get many comments like your about really liking the "links" and then on the flip side, I get the most "unsubscribes" on the links newsletters. I can't please everyone all the time. lol. Sharing with readers other interesting things I read brings me joy, so I'll keep sharing.
This might be one of my favorite Happy Friday Links so far! I think I clicked on almost every link 😅 They all seemed so interesting! Thank you for sharing, as always! ✨✨
If you visit Michigan, stop by for a visit. I live close to Lake Michigan and a park. You can swim in the summer... I won't be joining you for the swim, though :) too cold for me!
I'm like you, I won't be swimming either. I don't like cold water. I will definitely let you know if I head up that way; it would be fun to meet other readers!
We are reading Remarkably Bright Creatures for my Book Chat Book Club (an online international book club) and I can't wait to see what everyone else thought about it. If any of your readers want to join in, please contact me.
ps You don't have to love the book to join the discussion. All opinions are welcome!

I would have joined you had I been in your book club! It didn’t resonate with me. There are two of us.
I would love to know more about why you found the story lacking.

Thanks for reading Sabrina and I plan on reading all weekend.
Loved the octopus book! I especially appreciated the multigenerational characters.

I was thinking the same thing! Where are you located?
I live in north of Dallas, TX
I stayed in San Antonio for two months last year to attend poker school. I loved Texas!
