I lived in Southern California in the early days of FedMart and then Price Club bought Fedmart. I don't ever remember shopping at a Costco until Costco bought out Price Club.
I LIVE for the NPR books we love website. So many of my favorite reads over the years have come from there. I'm always tickled whenever they add to it!
Wonderful links, as always, Gayla! I especially appreciate the Libby Life one as I’m an avid audiobook listener. I’ve discovered and rediscovered all kinds of books I probably wouldn’t have read this way, and it keeps my mind busy while I cook, walk, drive, etc.
I'm hooked on podcasts like many people are hooked on social media. If it wasn't for that, I'd probably listen to audiobooks like I listen to podcasts now. Maybe one day I'll be ready to switch it up and let go of some of my podcasts, but who knows. Thanks for reading, Ruth.
Yes, I too was hooked on podcasts and kind of gave up a lot of really excellent ones when I discovered Libby’s audio library because I knew I’d never read any books if I tried to find quiet reading moments outside of so many other distractions and commitments (including trying to keep up with others’ blogs and my own!). Audiobooks are a compromise, though I still do listen to podcasts when I have a chance.
I love that we both mentioned the "book it" program this week in our posts! Just a read. Now I have a bunch of delightful rabbit trails to follow thanks to you. :)
Thanks for reading! I read so many newsletters and come across so many great things that I love to share with readers. I also enjoy reading your newsletter with all the great book recommendations.
Thank you so much for the mention, Gayla! :)
Happy to share! I loved her books and your remembrance of her was really well done.
I loved the Costco article. I didn't know its history but what a man Sol Price was!

Beautiful nuggets for this time of year. Thank you!
Thanks, Patti!
The book quiz!! Thank you for sharing
I'm curious if you think your results are accurate. When I did the quiz, I didn't agree with the book it recommended for me. lol

I kept looking over the last few weeks for them to update it and they finally did. Thanks for reading.

Thank you so much. It's such a joy to be a part of the bookish community. 🥰
I do love it here, Gayla!
Thanks!
Lovely post, Gayla, and the Chicago Market is always fun! 🎄
Thanks, Jolene. I'd love to go to all of them someday.
Me, too, Gayla!
I had no idea the Book It program was still around!
Thanks for reading!
