I really do enjoy the links you share, Gayla! I'm particularly taken with the Audiofile link that offers a sampling of audiobooks to check out. As I more often listen than read books these days, it will help me wade through the many choices out there. Thanks also for the reminder of Book festivals. The LA Times has one coming up that I think I'll try to attend.

I would love to go to the LA Times book festival at some point. Maybe I can make it work in the next year or two. I read a lot of YA books and there is a YA festival in Santa Monica called Yallfest that I'd love to go to also. I have to sample an audiobook before I buy it as I'm so picky about the narrator. Thanks for reading, Ruth!

Thanks Jessica. It's looking like I will unless something unforseen happens.

I love Lauren Groff's books and now I love her even more for her rebellious act (at least in the state of FL) of opening a bookstore! Go, Lauren, Go!

I agree wholeheartedly. We need more people everywhere to be rebellious related to book-banning and taking a stand against it!

Have you watched the documentary about Judy Blume? I learned a lot about her longtime efforts fighting the good fight.

No I haven't and it's not because I haven't wanted to; I keep finding other things to watch and forgetting about it. I'm going to have to make a TBW (to be watched) list so I don't keep forgetting about shows I want to watch. Thanks for putting it back on my radar.

You are correct, there are several and in the past, I've been buried in taxes so I haven't been able to go. This year, I'm making sure that I get to a few of them throughout the year.

I love the variety and interesting stories that you link us to. I have been out of the loop for a few weeks so have not been keeping up on the substacks that I myself subscribe to. Hopefully I will be back to my normal routines soon and catch up. I especially enjoy your newsletter.

Well done Gayla, I'm sorry i haven't posted in a while because I've been in the middle of a house move myself, but meanwhile you do keep putting out quality content like this each week, it is impressive. We're heading into a busy period in the literary world as a lot of writer's festivals are coming up (here in Australia at least), so I hope to have a few helpful links of my own to share soon. Take care - Will
