Well, it's never too late to discover bell hooks. Wounds of Passion is my favorite book of hers, followed by All About Love.

Enjoy the rest of your lovely long weekend, Gayla!

Thanks for the recommendations Sarah. I guess Wounds of Passion has never been converted to an e-book. I can't find it on Libby or Amazon e-books. 3 of my 4 library cards has All About Love; I have put a hold on it as all three have long waits. And I am so enjoying my 4 day weekend so far.

I'm so appreciative of all your research and links, Gayla! I will definitely have to read the one about reader blocks, which I'm afraid I suffer from, along with writer block sometimes. You may make a more constant reader of me yet!

Oh, thanks Ruth. I appreciate you no matter how often you read my newsletters. I'm happy that you find links interesting and useful. :)

I love bell hooks, and highly recommend Appalachian Elegy! I think so many people have ideas about Appalachia that are very one-dimensional, and this is a great introduction to Appalachian lit!

My library has Applachian Elegy and I put a hold on it. Only a 7 week wait for this one. Thanks for the recommendation.
