What a lovely description of Harbor Springs! I've wanted to visit Michigan for a while and now I have the perfect destination. I'm really enjoying your blog.

I loved the area. I have never seen water so blue, or water as far as you can see knowing there is another state across the water. A couple of times I found myself looking out and thinking I was at the ocean. I new the Great Lakes were huge, but I had no idea just how big they are. Thanks for reading, Sharon.

A delightful town. There are very few structures that look good in pink, and the one you posted belongs in that category. The even sounds perfect.

The pink place (with the Little Free Library that looks like a home is actually a pizza restaurant. Fun fact--when Tim Walz in town with Mayor Pete and was practicing for his debate, he and Gwen wound up and the pizza restaurant for dinner on Friday night that week. I had eaten there for lunch, too bad I wasn't there for dinner, too! Thanks for reading!

Wow! I love that Tim Walz enjoyed pizza there! Wish you'd had dinner that night.

Truly enjoyable to tag along with you virtually to this book festival, Gayla! This is an area I’d love to visit—and the festival sounds like a winner!

Gayla ! Appreciate you reading my quirky decisions. I’m seeing Harbour Springs on your site. We live in Charlevoix May to Oct . Harbour Springs is a second home on our Searay boat (when we get lucky with a slip in summer ) I often drive up with Alvin my English black lab. We swim at Zorn and eat lunch at Yohan or Pierson. I’m native SoCal. Moved East . Then Midwest. Discovered a place where heaven meets the Pure Michigan waters and skies.

Thanks for reading! I haven't traveled a lot, I was too busy working, and I'm having the time of my life traveling since I retired. I adored Harbor Springs and the entire area. I have never had a town and area affect me like HS has and I can't wait to go back again next year for the festival. If I were rich, that's where I'd be, at least for the non-winter months. I have been to many book festivals and hands down, this one is the best.

Rich. We are not. Well off. We are. Good decisions. We’ve made. I met my husband Ed 46 years ago in Greenwich. That is a unique story. Many of mine are. Born and raised in the heart of wealth before uber greed took seeds. I eventually headed NYC when I was 23. Worked in and out of advertising and film production. Ed was living in Chappaqua (of Clinton fame) living with Ashley age 8 when we met. Divorced . He was with Chase Investors. We had 2 more children. Dudley now 41. Erin 38. Ash 53. I 73. 5 grandchildren varying ages. In 1994 PNC Wealth Management came knocking.. Inviting Ed to head up wealth management In CINCINNATI????!!!! Waaaaa. I’d never been in midwest. The LA Woman loved it albeit a bit tooooo conservative for my taste. I discovered Charlevoix on a whim. We rented for years and bought our place on Round Lake Harbour 17 years ago for what is now considered a song. We are ‘snowbirds’ (Ugh that expression) purchased a home in Venice on the Gulf 10 years ago. I am not enamoured with Florida but who am I to complain???? Taking up your time. If interested google Jennifer Ward Dudley. I have quite a few short stories, all non fiction from my life and times in Bhills. On Workpress. Enjoy evening.. Jenn
