Wow, what a timely post!!! I meet with my creative writing group today and by sharing some of this I can be "the smartest guy in the room" for the first time in my life! Thanks! All that is mine I carry with me sounds interesting! So many books, so little time.
They all seem super good but “Now you see us” certainly got my attention. Too bad I have so much to read already, but maybe I won’t skip it if I see it on my next trip to the book store. Just saying... 🫣
Thanks for so many wonderful recommendations, Gayla. Honestly, I don't know where to start because I want to read all of them! I particularly love a good legal thriller, so perhaps I'll start with Defending Jacob, which I have never read. I just finished reading Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson, a fascinating multigenerational drama about a Caribbean family, its secrets and a special cake that connects to the mystery. It might even have been a book you recommended or one I read about elsewhere. I enjoyed it a lot and can't stop thinking about that cake!
I've heard great things about Blake Cake, and I've heard that it lives up to the hype. I love multigenerational family drama's and I'm looking forward to reading this at some point. I have the same problem, I want to read all the books, but I don't even have enough time to read what I need to be reading.
Thanks for these recommendations. I'm especially excited to see another Jeanette Walls book!
I am too. It's my kind of book; maybe I'll find time to read it; just until another one shows itself to me and then I'm doomed. lol
Ha! I know what you mean.

I'm glad to be able to help you in your "smartest guy in the room" endeavor. lol I loved Landay's book, I think you will too.
I always considered this out of reach...

Well, hopefully it'll be sitting on the shelf looking all pretty and ready to party and you won't be able to resist. :)
Will def check out Sinatra book!

Love the sound of Now You See Us, will seek it out
Good, let me know what you think when you read it.
Shall do! In Singapore now, so it would be a very timely read if I can find a copy here.
Oh, I immediately put Hang the Moon on my “To Read” list! Thanks for mentioning it!!!
I've read a lot of good things about Hang the Moon, I'm excited to read it too.
I can’t wait for Pineapple Street!
I search out family drama's to read and I can't wait to read this one too.
