Oh, you're welcome. Thanks for reading. I'm not sure why I have such an aversion to Halloween, but I do. I love watching foodie shows but they all turn into Halloween shows for the next couple of months. lol
So excited to learn about the Notes From Three Pines newsletter as I’m a huge Louise Penny fan and can’t wait for the new Inspector Gamache installment in November (particularly the discussion of the food that always seems to figure prominently in these tales!).Thanks for all your recommendations and insights!
Thanks for being here and reading Ruth. I was excited when I heard that Elizabeth and Aya were putting this together. I can't wait until the first newsletter arrives. Yes, food figures prominently in so many books, not just the Three Pines books.
I know! I'm thinking of devoting a newsletter or two to food mentions in various books--films too. Of course that could be a whole new path to wander down...
I'm with you on a new path, I can't wait to see where you take it. Even though my newsletter is primarily books, I've ventured through food and travel because all three are connected in so many different ways. For me, one naturally leads to the next and the next.
I'm reading old and oldish things right now so I'm happy to get recommendations for new things, all the writers you listed are new to me. Thank you! I just finished "Happy Go Lucky" by David Sedaris and just started "How to Cook a Wolf" by MFK Fisher - published during WWII - I'm curious what Bourdain would have thought of it.
I'm glad you are finding new things to read. I've heard of the Sedaris book, but I've not heard of How to Cook A Wolf. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for reading!
Love these book recs! Adding them to my list :)
Oh good, I'm happy you found more books to read. After all, one can never have too many books to read. :)
Countdown to retirement must feel awesome!
It feels awesome, I just wish I didn't have next tax season to have to live through. But it's less than a year now and I can't wait.
With you on counting down to that tax deadline and not loving Halloween!! But fall is also my fave season. Thanks for these reccs. :)

The seven types of people in a book club was hilarious. I fear the type I resemble. Will forward to my club I think they will enjoy.
I thought it was funny too. I've encountered each type, probably why I'm not in an in person book club right now. I'll stick to online for a while.
So many great books this month! Thanks for promo-ing Notes from Three Pines!
I'm excited for it to begin and hopefully my readers will subscribe.
Really loved the link to Bourdain style books! Added two to my reading list.
I'm happy you found something to add to your TBR. That's my goal lol

That's a delightful philosophy, Gayla, and inspiring. You're right, so much is interconnected. No reason to box ourselves in.
