Carol, I'd love to hear what you think the SG benefits are and also the reasons why you still prefer GR. I've thought about using them side by side too, but I don't know if I have the time to do that. Did you import your GR list into SG or ??
I did import my Goodreads. I like the ability to give half stars on SG. I also like the ability to list content warnings separately from a written review. And I like the graphs that SG provides.
I feel lonely on SG and I miss all my followers and friends on GR. People don’t seem to follow as readily over on SG. In almost a year I’ve never had anyone randomly follow me. I haven’t searched out followers because I’m not sure how long I’m staying. While I write reviews on GR, I don’t copy and paste written reviews over to SG…l just do the check off list and TW on SG. I miss my shelves! I love creating different shelves on GR…maybe you can do that on SG but I haven’t found that option.
I don’t think the benefits would cause me to switch permanently. I think others might be motivated to switch because they don’t want to support GR because of Amazon affiliation and would enjoy supporting a smaller independent venture.
Thank you Carol for providing this information. I had no idea that there are no "shelves". That may be the deal-breaker for me. I will do more research before I commit to doing anything related to SG.
Yay for 3 day weekends! I’ve been using Storygraph alongside Goodreads this year to compare them. SG has some benefits but I still think I prefer GR.

Let me know if you find them!
